Hardik Pandya’s hitting ability going down: Irfan Pathan raises concern over MI skipper after failure vs RR

Former cricketer Irfan Pathan has raised concerns over Hardik Pandya’s hitting ability after another failure with the bat on Monday, April 22 against RR. After coming in at No.7 to bat in Jaipur, Hardik struggled to make any sort of impression with the bat before being dismissed for 10 off 10 balls as MI scored 179 runs in their 20 overs.

After his disappointing knock, Pathan took to X and said that Hardik’s hitting ability seemed to be on the decline, which is a worry when it comes to the big picture with the T20 World Cup looming. The former cricketer said that Hardik seems to be fine at the Wankhede stadium but on tracks where there is a little help for the bowlers, his form has been a worry.

“Hardik Pandya’s hitting ability is going down. That’s a big worry on a larger picture. At the wankhede he is different but on pitches where there is little help is what is worrisome for him,” said Pathan.

How well has Hardik batted in IPL 2024?

Hardik hasn’t had the best of times with the bat in the IPL 2024 as he has scored just 151 runs from 8 matches. The strike-rate for Hardik is currently at 142.45 for the MI skipper at an average of 21.57. This is in stark contrast to last season when he scored 346 runs from 16 matches at an average of 31.45.
